note  --  The Sword in the Stone is not Excalibur. Arthur was twice gifted magical swords, first the Sword in the Stone from Merlin,  After this sword broke in battle, Arthur received Excalibur, a sword forged on the isle of Avalon, from the Lady of the Lake.

note  --  The god of war worshipped by the Sarmatians was symbolised by a sword standing upright in the ground or in a stone.
